Air Mouse is a simple application i decided to develop to remotely control my laptop from my android device. The idea came while watching a movie at home, I use my laptop connected to my 42 inch LCD TV through a VGA cable to watch movies, but what if you’re sitting comfortably and either your phone rings or someone knocks on the door, or what if you get thirsty and want to get up to get a glass of water, well you’d have to get up, walk over to the laptop and pause the movie. With Air Mouse all you have to do is connect your Android device remotely to the server running on your laptop and you will be able to move the mouse around, control your system’s volume, pause the movie, fast forward, rewind and virtually almost anything you would do just as if you were standing right in front of your laptop. By using UDP sockets this applications is very reliable and easy to use, first you need to install the server which will run in the background on your computer, the server processes information received from the Android device, for example the mouse coordinates when you move your finger across the touchscreen on your mobile device.
The beta version only supports the mouse and the volume control, the Full version not yet released will have many more functions which will allow the user have complete control of their system through their Android mobile device.
